7. Without divulging any trade secrets, please describe how you acquire your profiles or clients?
We acquire our profiles and client due to advertisement of our
services.
8. Do you or your staff meet the profiled-clients in person prior to posting their profile?
We interview the profiled-clients, check up their papers and compare
this information with the information in the questionnaire proposed
to the profiled-client.
9. Do you conduct an interview in person or by telephone with the profiled-client?
In person only.
10. Do you sell the addresses of your profiled-clients?
No, we don't.
11. Do you prohibit your profiled-clients from providing their home addresses or telephone numbers to their foreign correspondents?
No, we don't.
12. Do you censor or monitor or modify in any way the
communications between the profiled-clients and their foreign correspondents?
No, we don't.
13. What steps did you take to verify the accuracy of the
information provided to you by the profiled-clients? For example, do you ask for proof of birth date, education, marital history, familial history or work experience and if so what is required?
During the interview we demand the Passport and other personal
papers.
14. How often do you update this information?
We update it all the time.
15. Approximately, how long does it take to remove profiled-correspondents that get engaged or married?
It takes 24 hours.
16. Can a profiled-client request removal or modification of her profile and how long does this take to comply with such a request?
Yes, they can. It takes 24 hour.
17. Do you have exclusive profiles? In other words can the profiled client ONLY be found or contacted at your agency?
Yes, we have.
18. How would you respond if you found out one of your
profiled-clients was listed at another or a number of other agencies?
It is a personal right of every client.
19. Do you have a refund policy and if so please describe it?
There are many clients who pay for the translation of their letters
to
the profiled-client and vice versa. It is personal right of the
client. In any case we don't interrupt their correspondence. It
doesn't matter for us who make the payment, what is important is
the payment being done in time.
20. Do you have formal procedures for addressing complaints from your clients?
If there are some complains our client can address Nataliya
Sockolova directly .
21. What would be your response if it were reported to you that one of your profiled-clients had defrauded someone out of money?
it is a very good question. We deleted the profile of such person
immediately. Lately we've run across such situation. Our client
Oksana Veselskaya received some sum of money for the trip to
Odessa to meet her foreign correspondent and she didn't go there.
We had nothing to do but to delete her profile and give our
apologies to the foreign client.
22. How would you describe your role or involvement in the
relationship between your foreign correspondent-clients and your profiled-clients?
We can describe our role in the relationship as offering different
kinds of services, such as translation etc.
Recently The Author received this response from Inter-Marriage Agency concerning another matter and it is hereby posted for your consideration.

You asked as many questions and we'd like to answer them.
Girls that are seeking for the meeting through the Internet may do
it by themselves or with the help of their friends or using the
internet cafe or using the service of the agency( Such as ours).
If there is a girl who wish to put her profile in the internet she is
to bring us her photos and fill in the questionnaire. Also we checked
the passport of the girl(her name , last name) , and she provide us
with the telephone number for us to contact her.
As our business is rather confidential and delicate many girls give
us only the phone number . Many people don't want their neighbors,
colleagues, friends to know about it ect.
Than the girl comes regularly to our agency and checked her mail, and
writes her letters. It is very simple thing. We control in a way all
the lettering and try to avoid every attempt to cheat if there is
any. And delete such girl from the list of the agency.
A girl may use the other agency simultaneously and also she can use
the Internet by herself, that's the problem. She may turn out to be a
fraud, maybe occasionally or professionally. Or just because of
greediness. As our country is very poor it may happen so.
And as you understand it is next to impossible to control it. We can
speak about the responsibility of their actions only in case that
their lettering was through our Agency. If the girl use the other
agency we know nothing about it.
About the facts of cheating of some other clients we may get to know
only from your site. In that case we just delete the profile of the scam from the our
agency as the reputation of our Agency is very important for us.
So you can see that we put the reputation of the agency on the first
place.
If the lettering wasn't though our agency, we couldn't check it and
be sure if this girl is the scam or not.
In case the lettering was though our agency we may check the copies
of it and drew a conclusion. Whether this girl is a scam or
was slandered.
